Mia-Kama is a solo loop-artist musician born and raised in Johannesburg. 

Her love for music started since her first day on earth as she was one of those kids that danced and sang before she could walk or talk. 

She has been involved in the arts and performed on multiple stages since primary school. When she left high-school she kick started her career into the music scene, building herself up from only an acoustic guitar to a full live production set up and becoming a loop-artist that has played multiple festivals around South Africa. 

Since then she has become the front woman, lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist of the up-and-coming alternative/funk/rock band - Far from Familiar. 

They have also played multiple festivals around South Africa and has since releases their EP in March of 2023. Regrettably, Far From Familiar as a band has parted ways in 2024, but the experience and achievements throughout that journey carry over strong into Mia-Kama’s solo work. And with some good experience she has since joined as front woman of the new funk rock band - Funk N Kiff - at the start of 2026.

The transformative power of music is both extraordinary and authentic. Its impact on the mind is profound, as it physically alters the brain. This is the essence of her mission—to bring change, one note at a time, with the aspiration of making a difference in the world.
